Submit Writing to MAOSSAE.COM

Got something worth writing? Don't keep it to yourself. Send it to MAOSSAE.COM!

1. What Can You Write?

We accept articles on just about anything. Still, writing related to books is what we value most. It can be a response to a book, notes from a book discussion, criticism, reflection, or an idea that came to you after reading. Other topics are welcome too, as long as they're interesting to read and talk about.

2. Book Reviews? Absolutely!

We also accept book reviews of every kind, genre, and point of view. Left-wing books, right-wing books, or something in between — all are welcome. What matters is that the writing doesn't just retell the book's contents, but also offers an interesting perspective.

3. Goresan

Have a thought that keeps nagging, a small observation, or a restlessness that needs to get out? No need to wait until it becomes a long essay. One or two paragraphs is enough: one idea, one observation, or one thing left unfinished. Think of Goresan as a space to ease your mind before your head gets too full.

Like to draw? You can send illustrations too. Not everything in your head has to be explained in words.

Short is fine — what matters is that something settles in your head and reaches the reader.

4. Anyone Can Write

You don't have to be a famous author, an academic, a critic, or someone with a long list of works. Students, workers, community organisers, even ordinary readers can submit writing. The requirements are simple: the writing is your own, not plagiarised, and you have something to say.

5. Prepare Your Manuscript and Supporting Photos

Send writing that is neat and ready for the editors to read. Include a photo of the book cover if you're writing about a book, or another supporting photo relevant to the piece. Make sure the photos are clear and may be used for publication.

6. Introduce Yourself to the Editors First

Don't just send an attachment without saying hello. Write an opening greeting, introduce yourself briefly, then mention the title of the piece you want to submit. Keep it relaxed — no need to be overly formal, just polite and pleasant.

7. Send It by Email

Send your manuscript and everything that goes with it to:

  • Include a short bio that's cool, relaxed, and reflects who you are
  • Include a photo of yourself
  • List your social media so readers can get to know you better
  • Make sure the email and contact details you provide are reachable

8. About Payment — Let's Be Honest

For now, MAOSSAE.COM cannot offer payment for every piece published. Even so, we provide a space to write, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and extend the discussion. We believe a good conversation can start from a piece of writing.

9. Wait for Word from the Editors

Every submission that comes in becomes material for the editors to consider. The editors reserve the right to select and edit pieces before publication. So please make sure the email and contact details you provide are reachable.

MAOSSAE.COM is not just a place to drop off writing, but a space to bring together books, readers, writers, and ideas. You don't have to agree to discuss. You don't have to be famous to start writing. Read the book. Think about it. Write your response. Send it to MAOSSAE.COM!
